DANTE prides itself on being a truly European (even global) company and recruits staff from many different countries. The company currently has 70 members of staff, many of whom are multi-lingual, representing 13 nationalities from around the world.
DANTE’s staff are a key factor in the successful provision of international research networks, the development of which is made possible by the extensive knowledge and expertise that exists within the various departmental teams.

Michael Enrico, Chief Technical Officer
His telecomm career started when he joined (what is now) BTexact Technologies in 1997, working on the study and development of innovative broadband access network architectures before moving to BT's wholesale broadband platform. In 2000 he joined a telecommunications startup as a network architect to design a novel platform to support wholesale secure broadband access and VPN services with a pan-European footprint. Michael has a BSc and PhD in Physics from Lancaster University; his PhD work involved experimental studies on superfluid helium at ultralow temperatures. |
Mark Johnston, Chief Network Operations Officer Mark has an Electrical and Electronic engineering undergraduate degree and a Masters in Business Administration. |
Cathrin Stöver, Chief International Relations and Communications Officer
Cathrin has a degree in European Business Studies and has studied and worked in Germany, France, the UK and US; she is based in Madrid, Spain. |
John Chevers, Chief Business Development Officer He has a BSc in Physics and an MSc in Optoelectronics at the University of London. His PhD from the University of Strathclyde used Time-Resolved Fluorescence Spectroscopy to study Sol-Gel Glasses. Subsequently he worked as a Scientist and Project Coordinator at Marconi Optical Components and Bookham Technology. |
Anand Patil, Chief Information Officer Anand has a bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from India in 1994 and started his career as a software engineer with Infosys in Bangalore before joining NCS, a Singapore Telecom subsidiary, as senior consultant. He has also worked as a Systems Architect in bespoke application development in a wide range of business sectors and technologies. |
Dale Robertson, Head of EC Liaison She has a Mathematics degree from the University of Cambridge and a Postgraduate Diploma in International Studies from Johns Hopkins University (SAIS) and spent time as a mathematical researcher in France. |
